…as we moved into
October the children have really become great friends with each
other with a vast amount of empathy and understanding of how
each of us are so different but yet so alike. We are learning
many different things but we are also understanding that each of
us learns differently…
Children learn
through play and interactions with their peers and adults.
Consistency and continuity is extremely important to the
development of each child. With consistency a child learns
routine, rules, and expectations. We try our best to provide
this each day. Attendance plays a big part in the day and life
of a preschooler to maintain that continuity with expectations
in their little life.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
SCHEDULE
When Kent
Public Schools announces that they are cancelled or running late
due to snow, ice or power failure there will be no preschool
classes that day. Kent Public Schools announces snow and ice
closures on local radio and television stations. Please listen
to radio and television announcements on snowy or icy mornings.
We will update the message on our voice mail as soon as we know
whether school will open or not.
Playing Outside in
Northwest Weather
The
Washington Administrative Code
(WAC)
388-295-2130 (1) requires child development facilities to
provide outdoor playtime activities for all children in their
programs. This means that even in the rain, children need to go
outside and play!
Remember, your child doesn’t get sick
from playing outside in the rain. Colds are caused by viruses,
not wet clothes, so it’s safe for kids to play in the rain. Of
course, getting wet is uncomfortable, so bring rain gear,
including boots, jackets and hats, and a change of clothes for
your kids.
Encourage kids to be active outdoors.
Playing in the sun or rain helps kids develop emotionally,
socially and physically. It’s also fun, so encourage physical
activity even in rain.
Please bring a warm jacket for your
child!
